Gustav

So, this Labor Day weekend has been consumed with Gustav-watching.
Since I was a reporter when Katrina blew through in 2005, it seemed strange to observe from the sidelines, so to speak.
The one constant order was, "Get out of town," issued by FEMA and Louisiana government officials.
Well done, folks.
I'm glad that Gustav wasn't a category 5 when it hit land.
And I'm really glad that animals were considered, although I think Mayor Nagin should have identified the bus company that was hired to transport companion animals, and then didn't show up.
Hope all of your loved ones are safe...

I'm taking a class, and our teacher has asked us to post our observations.
I don't know that I would have created a blog, otherwise.
But this should be fun...I hope.
